Agreement for Lease

We just went to the HDB today to sign the agreement for lease! yea, after 5 months of wait, we were finally contact to sign the lease. they have already started on the building of our flat about 3 weeks ago though. the area is all fenced up and there are a lot of cranes transported there already. yea, so today, we paid the 5% deposit, stamp duty and conveyancing fees, and the remaining flat purchase amount would be loaned from HDB. the delivery possession date that hdb has to hand over the flat is Q1 2015, but the hdb customer service officer says that from his experience, we would expect to collect our keys in Q1 2014. for some faster projects, we may also get it in Q4 2013. so huh, now huh, darling should start racking his brains..... the singapore BTO system gives marriage no elements of surprise man. Boring.

We went to Luvvy Curry at tpy to have our dinner, and to celebrate that we are now tens of thousands poorer. they serve good food at economical prices. his grilled chicken pasta set ($9.90+) and my grilled prawn pasta set ($12.90+) comes with drink, salad, soup and yakitori. well, today is a day which we both have looked forward to. tmr would be my big 1 hour presentation day, where i would be the lowest life form presenting alongside with the deputy directors and senior assistant directors. wish me luck, i hope i do well!

Selected!

Yesyes! We have selected our choice unit on the 6th floor today. We are happy with this as both of us are currently living on the 6th floor now. Have been checking the hdb website on the units left everyday, and i can say that we have waited with long necks for the past 1 month. but yay, now our address to be is already out! HDB will be asking us to go down to their office to sign the agreement for lease within 4 months, and we will have to pay 5% downpayment from our cpf. The flat price is $368,800 without taking their tiles and doors. In about 3 years, we will be able to collect our keys :)

Fengshui for flat

We will be selecting our HDB unit on 20 May. Though the queue no. doesnt look good, i think we are very lucky to be able to get it out of the 1600+ applicants. i hope that the people in front of us will be choosy and decide to give up their chance. then we will be able to get a high level unit. 20 May seems like a wait that lasts forever, we both cant wait! We have been refreshing the flat selection page to see which units are taken up already and it is so nerve wrecking.

As we believe in fengshui, we engaged a fengshui master to help us in our selection of the flat at $238. He is actually boon's brother. Yup so after looking at our 8 characters and the floor plans of the flats, he recommended the most suitable block for us. We met him today and he explained all these to us. There are 4 different orientations for 5-room flats, and one of the blocks is a very auspicious one that suits us. But the highest level for that one is only 6th floor. The 2nd auspicious one has the highest level of 9th floor, but it will have 夕照. The other two orientations are not suitable for us. He left it to us to decide as we may not know, 3 days later when it is our turn to select the flat, the first most auspicious block may already be taken up. We will have to keep refreshing the page and see how 3 days later!

Tiles and Doors?

Ok so today we went out with the new camera. as planned, we still went to suntec's IT fair. haha, just want to be assured that we (hopefully) didn't lose out. so indeed, we didn't really lose out cos the fair is selling the camera at a higher price than chinatown, except that there is 1 more free gift. well, if we buy the free gift ourselves, we would still have a net gain of about $30? so yes we left the fair happily. had lunch at nyochi at marina square.


All of you would know that i will usually take pictures of my food once it arrives, and usually you will have to wait for a while before you eat. but now, i have to wait for him to eat!! he was so engrossed with his new love clicking away for a looooong time. eh, i still cant really appreciate it leh, im still using the digital camera (photos above also very clear what). i like everything slim, gadget (and figure). hahaha, though his NEX 5 is very slim, the lens take up a big space and i cant imagine shopping around with it in my bag.

We went to HDB hub after shopping around at suntec (big sale at new look). want to check out the optional doors and tiles that we have to consider opting for. will have to do some homework before deciding. it's going to be an exciting journey ahead :)

Second Attempt: Boon Lay Fields

We have conducted the ballot and your queue position to select a flat is 124. If you are a first-timer applicant and you reject two chances to select a flat in Build-To-Order/Balloting/Sale of Balance Flats exercises, your first-timer status in the balloting will be removed for a one-year period when you participate in any subsequent HDB sale exercises.

Even though the outlook of this project is boring, but this bto will be built on the land which is in between the lakeside and boon lay mrt track. very good, not as ulu as the other jurong west btos that are always hidden deep inside the jurong west estates. it is 1 bus stop away from lakeside mrt and 2 bus stops away from boonlay mrt. the application was 10.8 times oversubscribed for 5 room flat! we didnt have any additional chances as it was not within 2km of our clement and teban garden parents' flats. but we got it!!! 124 out of 152 units. it is our second time applying for a flat and we are so happy that we got this one instead of corporation tiara. better location, shorter wait to date of completion, at Q1 2014.
