Booked the Car!

There aren't many wedding car rental companies in Singapore. After browsing through various website, we decided to go with the safest and most commonly used ACE drive. Darling has since young, been fond of cars. One of his dreams is to own a car by 26. Ok, he will not be able to achieve this in one month's time and I think it will be achievable only when he is in his 30s. Why waste money to buy a depreciating asset when the company gives you a vehicle to drive right? Even though I have always been driven around since young, I see no qualms travelling in our MRT. Ok back to this, because he is so fond of cars, we decided to rent something which we will never likely be able to own in future.

We initially wanted to rent the Maserati - spacious, majestic, can sit 4 and looks so awfully good, but the driver needs to be at least 29 years old! Oh well good in a sense, helps us save money. So we decided to downgrade and look for smth smaller in size. He would want to drive the car anyway, so why not just get a 2-seater. What is the purpose of renting a car but not being able to drive in it? Hehe yea, so the below were all our shortlisted cars with prices for a 24 hour rental on weekends.

Our dreamiest choice - Maserati Granturismo, $1,088+

Porsche 911, $1,088+

BMW 320i M Sport Cabriolet, $578+

Audi TTS Roadster, $588+

 Porsche Boxster 2.7 Tiptronic, $638+

So in the end, we chose the Porsche Boxster! It looks more sleek and its branding is definitely better than BMW and Audi. With a price difference of $50, why not right! Initially I was worried that sitting in these open top cars would mess up my hair, but then we reasoned that the car is only for picture moments. We will close the top when we are on the road.

And to my worried parents who think that Porsche = fast and dangerous, it is not. The car that we are using has lower horse power than the Audi above, Mercedes S class and has almost the same horse power as a BMW 6 series. And, we will definitely drive safely. The distance between our homes are so short and if anything happens, the insurance excess is $30,000. You think we want to play with $30K?

Yes, feeling excited to be in a Porsche!

Tailored Shirts

We went to collect the tailored shirts for darling today. He tailored a shirt for a tuxedo and another normal shirt. We want to recommend this tailor - Grandcity Tailor located at Ubi warehouse factory. Even though it was located at such an ulu place, their shop is filled with customers when we went there twice. If you search the online forums, you would also find good recommendations on them. They have such a long list of customers that we had to wait for 2 months before we could collect these 2 shirts. In terms of pricing, it is also reasonable. He paid $100 for that tuxedo shirt and $70 for the everyday  shirt. The cloth is thick and their measurements are very accurate. The 2 shirts fitted darling to a tee, making him a very satisfied customer. It is usually hard for him to buy a shirt from outside as he has long arms and torso. The usual G2000 would be too short in the sleeves or too loose for his chest if he gets a bigger size. So, definitely would go back to this place if he wants to tailor make a shirt in future.

Where is my diamond ring?

13 Jul 13 Sat
I had a scare of my life today! I went for a body massage in the afternoon and had to remove my ring. I put the ring into a compartment in my bag, together with my earpiece. Subsequently, I went to a facial shop for some beauty treatment and while waiting for the girl, watched some video on youtube. When I reached home and wanted to put the ring back on my finger, I realized that I could not find it anymore!! Not even after I flipped my bag inside out. Holy holy shit. Don't ask me why I didn't put my ring back on my finger after the massage, it just so happened.

I thought back where my ring could be and it dawned on me that the ring might have dropped at the facial shop when I took out the earpiece. And so, I decided to try my luck and called them even though it was half an hour past their operating hours. Was feeling desperate. You could not imagine how I relived I felt when they said they had a diamond ring with them and were waiting for the owner to call them!! I really owe it to them and should commend that they are very honest people. They could have just pretended nothing happened and sold the ring or smth.

Pheww, I could finally erase the thought of buying a replacement diamond ring. Darling was beside me throughout. He wasn't angry that I misplaced it, just very calmly helped me look for it in my room. It's not really about the money, but  the symbol of our engagement and any other ring wouldn't feel the same. Come to think of it, it has almost been a year since he proposed. I have grown so much attachment to that piece of jewellery such that I felt lost when I forgot to wear it out once. The feeling was like forgetting to bring your phone out. Somehow, when I could feel the ring on my finger everyday, I feel a sense of security, it's something that can't be explained.

So now, a lesson learnt. Will definitely pay more attention to that jewel next time and this shall never ever happen again. My heart cant take it.
