We initially wanted to rent the Maserati - spacious, majestic, can sit 4 and looks so awfully good, but the driver needs to be at least 29 years old! Oh well good in a sense, helps us save money. So we decided to downgrade and look for smth smaller in size. He would want to drive the car anyway, so why not just get a 2-seater. What is the purpose of renting a car but not being able to drive in it? Hehe yea, so the below were all our shortlisted cars with prices for a 24 hour rental on weekends.
Our dreamiest choice - Maserati Granturismo, $1,088+
Porsche 911, $1,088+
BMW 320i M Sport Cabriolet, $578+
Audi TTS Roadster, $588+
Porsche Boxster 2.7 Tiptronic, $638+
So in the end, we chose the Porsche Boxster! It looks more sleek and its branding is definitely better than BMW and Audi. With a price difference of $50, why not right! Initially I was worried that sitting in these open top cars would mess up my hair, but then we reasoned that the car is only for picture moments. We will close the top when we are on the road.
And to my worried parents who think that Porsche = fast and dangerous, it is not. The car that we are using has lower horse power than the Audi above, Mercedes S class and has almost the same horse power as a BMW 6 series. And, we will definitely drive safely. The distance between our homes are so short and if anything happens, the insurance excess is $30,000. You think we want to play with $30K?
Yes, feeling excited to be in a Porsche!
