Europe Honeymoon Itinerary and Cost

Gosh, it really is expensive to go for our free & easy Europe honeymoon! Have finally booked the air ticket and accommodation and it already adds up to almost 10K for 2 pax for a 21 day trip. It could be more expensive as it is now the summer holidays and we are less than a month away from our trip! It is really tough planning all these.

Here's our tentative itinerary:

London - 5 days
Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, Petticoat Lane Market, Chinatown, Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park, Harrods, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Westfield, Wembley Stadium, Camden Market, Westend Musical.

Rome - 3 days
Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Vatican City, Via Sannio Market, Spanish Steps, Via Dei Condotti

Pisa - 1 day
Leaning Tower of Pisa

Florence - 2 days
Prada space outlet store, The Mall, Piazza della Signoria, Pizzale Michelangelo

Venice - 2 days
Piazza san Marco, Saint Mark's Basilica, Rialto Bridge

Milan - 2 days
Milan Cathedral, Piazza del Duomo, The Last Supper

Paris - 5 days
The Lourve, Eiffel Tower, Champs de Mars, Notre Dame Cathedral, Les-Champs Elysee, Boulevard Haussmann, Dinseyland

And here's the breakdown of the cost so far for 2 pax:
Airticket (to and back Singapore): $4,200
Airticket (London to Rome, Milan to Paris): $760
Inter-Italy Train tickets: $450
Disneyland tickets: $430
Accommodation: $3,400
Travel Insurance: $210
Total: $9,450

How much cash should we change? To cap total spending of $7,500 per pax for the honeymoon (excluding the bag purchases), we can only change $2,750 each. Doable? Aim.

  1. Hi Li Lin, do remember that when you go to Europe, you are essentially bringing only 'half' your cash given the exchange rate (1 SGD = 0.59 EUR). Thus, you will have only about 1620 Euro each and, 75 Euros per day to spend, given its 21 day trip.

More than sufficient for city subway transport and basic meals (About 20 Euros for a usual 3 course dinner in Paris). But anything more than these (e.g. cab rides, passes, musical plays) and you will need additional cash.

    Regards,
    Lee
