We will be flying to Europe this coming Thursday and will be back end July. Really hope to see a nice nice house when we are back in SG!
So this weekend, we settled the blinds. We have shopped around previously for the blinds/ curtains and roughly know the price for psf. The uncle who sold us the lights introduced his friend to us. We asked her for a rough cost psf and asked her to meet us at our house with the materials. Then comes decision point - wooden blind or roller blind? What colour?
I personally like wooden blinds (left) better as I thought it looks more modern. You can also adjust it such that light can penetrate in while people cant see your house from the outside. I want to be able to see outside the house. However, it is super difficult to maintain! Every wood pane is a cleaning point as it would collect dust. Given the practical consideration, darling prefers the roller blind (right), (and cos he will be doing the cleaning). I thought that roller blinds make it look like an office. But anyway in the end, we decided on the roller blind as it is easier to maintain.
She quoted us $11 psf for wooden blinds and $7 psf for roller blind. Prices include installation. The total cost of the roller blind for living room and bedrooms after discount amount to $1,200. And then, she told us that she will be going home after the trip to our house. We asked where she stays and chiang chiang - she is my neighbor! She lives in my neighbourhood and is a few alleys away. So when you see coincidental scenarios on drama serials, don't brush it off as it does happen!
The picture above was actually taken from her house. We went to her house to pass her the 50% deposit and chanced upon a live showroom. Hhaa
