1) Somehow the comms with HDB cement screeding kok-ed up and they didn't come to do the screeding on time last week. Without screeding, we cant lay the vinyl flooring. When the floor is not done, they cant really proceed with the cabinet. If you want to have HDB do the free screeding for you because you are using laminate/ vinyl flooring, quickly book as the lead time is about 3 weeks. Otherwise, your contractor can do it for you with a fee. Our 5-room flat would have amount to about 1+K.
2) Now that the screeding was done this week, our ID told us this week that our vinyl flooring has no more stock and we need to wait till the next shipment! Ehh, but wouldn't they have ordered this long ago? So our reno will be delayed for 2 weeks till mid July. But it's ok, since we will be honeymoon-ing till end July though.. This would mean that we would only be able to move in after the 7th month in end Aug/ Sep.
So at the 5th week, this is what has progressed:
1) Cement screeding
2) Painting in the living and guest room
3) Kitchen cabinet
Cement screeding in the bedrooms. It was done this week.
Brown paint for the TV feature wall, guest room and living room partition.
Kitchen cabinets without the granite table top and glass backing yet.
We are using these blum hinges for our cabinet for soft closing. Do opt for these so that your cabinets wouldn't slam shut.
